Staying In My Lane

Remember to stay in your lane. Everyone’s journey is different. As a mom with a newborn at home, it’s important to remember this. The need to focus is dire, especially now, but my primary focus is nurturing and caring for my newborn. There’s plenty of time to get back at it. This picture reminds me of that. This picture was taken about 2 years after I had our third daughter. Though I’m still training women & mothers , my post pregnancy body isn’t where I want it to be eventually, but I know I will get there. It takes a day at a time. This throwback reminded me of this this morning. So, to all the women, mothers out there who are going through postpartum and feel peer pressured into getting their body back to how it once was, be encouraged. Just know that you’re doing your best. Stay the course, focus on your lane and your newborn(s) and don’t be so hard on yourself.

Things that help me stay focused on my goal(s) & stay in my lane:

  1. Meditation: Early morning meditating helps me to clear my mind before jump-starting the day. I call it my “meetings with myself”. Before the kids & hubby wakes, this time is very important. Taking about 20 minutes of clarity daily improves ones state of mind, well-being, and overall happiness.

  2. Eating Healthy: Every organ in the body depends on blood flow, especially the heart and brain, so I eat foods that enhance blood flow, boost my concentration, & are loaded with antioxidants-firing up my brain cells, like avocados and blueberries.

  3. Surrounding myself with positivity-whether a person, places, or even certain things. Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you'll start having positive results.
